Teapot “Enchantress”

45,00

Description

Teapot in hand-painted white porcelain, quill drawing design. Two colours available: purple and china blue, with real platinum detailing. The magical formula that ornates the top was designed by our friend comic book author Philippe Pellet especially for us. Making time: 10 days.

The purple teapot has a defect that was adressed: some paint chipping occured in a couple small areas in the glyphs on top, exposing the biscuit of the teapot. I painted them over in platinum and fired the teapot again (you can’t repaint with porcelain paint on biscuit, but gold and platinum work)

Colours are fired at a temperature of 850° which has the effect of fixating them directly into the enamel coating of the piece. This method also gives a unique aspect far superior in appearance and durability to numeric transfers that are commonplace in either industrial or on demand (society6, redbubble and others) productions. Irregularities might occur and are the marks of an authentic handicraft.

Our porcelains can be put into the dishwasher, although fading may occur over years if they are washed on a daily basis with this method (which is aggressive after all). They are microwaveable as well, unless the design features metallic paints such as real gold or platinum.
