“Trends come by and go but this nebulous creature gathers them all in her lap, indifferent to their meanings and raison d’etre — for the thrill of collection only. She gives much to see, but never contributes herself. Μεταφορά of all that is empty and hollow.”
Print of “Φύσις το κενό φιλει” (“Nature loves the Void”), a watercolour illustration by messalyn painted in 2016. Important note : this is a reproduction print, not the original!* And yet it has features of its own. Each and every print is manually painted with silver ink with a subtle play on transparency, like in the original painting, or gold ink. Each and every print is manually painted with silver (like the original painting) or gold ink, with a subtle play on transparency. At an additional cost I could also do the embellishment with a combination of real gold leaf and gold ink for the semi-transparent parts.
The illustration is reproduced on a A3-sized paper (29.7 x 42 cm = 12 × 16½ inches), at the same scale than the original. It features wide margins to allow for the artist signature and numerotation and give you the most options for the framing process. You could even ditch the usual framing mat as these margins are quite efficient. The paper — Fuego Matt natural white in 285g — has a little texture to it, it was chosen for its likeness with creation papers used for painting, as some of my prints are actually made to be painted over.
