“The passage to the afterlife, and a nod to the many young sickly characters populating my lifelong love, XIXth century novels.”
Print of ”Vüe antérieure des poumons” (“Anterior view of the lungs”), an illustration by messalyn drawn in ink and quill in 2016. Important note : this is a reproduction print, not the original!* And yet it has features of its own. Each and every print is manually painted with silver ink with a subtle play on transparency, exactly like the original.
The illustration is reproduced on a A4-sized paper (21 x 29.7 cm = roughly 8¼ × 12 inches), at the same scale than the original. As such, there are no margins. The paper — Rives Sensation Tradition Matt natural white in 270g — has a little texture to it, it was chosen for its likeness with creation papers used for painting, as some of my prints are actually made to be painted over.
