Description
“The statuette, that was all she minded really. To forestall her own good star, or why not, take its place. For what is the price of a prize? Ambitions grew larger and gowns grew longer, possibly to hide the mark of her very first pygmalion on her body. Hooves notwithstanding, a likeness between them seemed an enviable fate after all, considering the numerous and age-old accounts on the later’s beauty. Let’s rest assured that as a matter of course the public won’t fail to notice her, again and again”.
Print of “La Montée au Paradis” (“The Rise to Paradise”), a watercolour illustration by messalyn painted in 2013. Important note : this is a reproduction print, not the original!* There are minor differences between the prints and the original due to the latest being slightly retaken a few years after its former completion.
The illustration is reproduced on a A4-sized paper (21 x 29.7 cm = roughly 8¼ × 12 inches), so it is smaller in size than the original. It features 1 cm (⅜ inch) margins to allow for the artist signature and numerotation and ease the framing process. The paper — Couché demi-mat in 300g — is smooth, almost bristol-like.
